After strong rebids

When your partner shows a strong hand with their rebid things get a little trickier because you have less bidding space.

One important difference between the two strong rebids is this:

The 2NT rebid, showing a balanced 18-19 HCP is NOT FORCING. Responder can pass with fewer than 6 HCP

A reverse IS FORCING – responder cannot pass. So if they don’t have fit with either of opener’s suits and they have a weak hand, they just have to bid 2NT

The panel above will guide you as to how to bid as responder in these situations.  If you have responded with a major suit and you have five cards in your suit, you should make a bid that gives opener room to show three cards in that suit on their third bid, so that you can find the major suit fit if you have one, but still leave room to play in 3NT if you don’t have a major fit.
